Enjoying wines with Great View
Delightful 2009 Altos de la Hoya of Jumilla (Spain) and 2010 Cantine Volpi Piemonte Moscato (Italy) with cheese and fruit, enjoying them with the spectacular view to the new Marina Bay in Singapore

Yeah, the above picture looks great.  But how do I begin when it comes to wine?  I could never get it right when trying to copy the labels of the wine that I really enjoyed in a party.  Even if I took a picture of the bottles with my latest iPhone, the labels make no sense at all and I don’t know where and how to look for the same wine!

Sounds familiar? That actually happened to many people who would love to know more about this exciting wine “business” but don’t know how to begin.  I started the hard way, by trying all the wine in my local supermarket, picking up information on each along the way.  It is a rather costly method, but it has worked for me.

I don’t claim to be a wine expert here, as there is still long way to go to be a true connoisseur.  Yet, there are some wine tips from my experience that you may find useful in finding/knowing the wine that you like and how to work around your budget for the good stuff.

  1. Know what wine you like
  2. Know your wine
  3. Work around your wine budget

BTW, the wines on the top picture only cost me HK$58.5 (Altos de la Hoya) and HK$98 (Moscato).  But they were wonderful!
