More complex fruit in the palate – citrus, green apple, slightly smoky and honeyed. Well structure and creamy full body. Good minerals and tartness. The finish was interesting. 2004 Château d’Issan We had this 2004 Château d’Issan in Klang last month, with some homemade shrimp fritter and Iberico Chorizo. It was quite a true “international” mix as the wine was French, fritter was local Malaysian, and Chorizo was Spanish! Château d’Issan Region: 3ème Gran Cru Classé Margaux, Bordeaux, France Grapes: 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot Vintage: 2004 Style: medium body, dry red Alcohol: 12.5% Price: HK$440 RP91 Opened it 4 hours before drinking. Aroma of red berries and wet soil, the color was dark purple. More berries, especially strawberry in the mouth. Green leaves and meadow beneath the oak, rather earthy as well.
